The East Peoria Communications Center is operated and staffed by the East Peoria Police Department. It is housed in the East Peoria Police Department.
The East Peoria Communications Center is operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. It is staffed by telecommunicators who are trained in emergency medical dispatch.
There are 3 primary answering positions at East Peoria and 1 backup answering position. Each answering position is configured the same and is equipped with a Zetron Intergrator RD radio dispatch console, Zetron Series 3200 telephone console and Sungard/OSSI Computer Aided Dispatch system. There are a total of 9 dedicated 9-1-1 trunks, 6 for wireline 9-1-1 calls and 3 for wireless 9-1-1 calls.
In 2014, East Peoria handled 12,630 emergency 9-1-1 calls. Of those calls, 10,141 were wireless 9-1-1 calls, 1,840 were wireline 9-1-1 calls and 649 were Voice Over IP 9-1-1 calls.
